Fr. Jeff hid a $5 bill and said that the blindfolded student could keep it if he could find it.  Everyone was shouting at him which way to go, but it was so loud and confusing. Fr. Then asked the student to choose just one person to guide him, asking if it is easier.  “YES!” (he did find the $5!)This demonstrated how we only need to listen to God’s voice in our lives; it’s too difficult to hear what needs to be heard if we are listening to all of the things our society is throwing at us. Too many voices distracts us and makes it difficult to get the prize (heaven).

National Speaker David Calavitta talked about the Relentless Love of God our Father. David gave the example of how when his son was born, the baby didn’t know what a father was! David’s baby learned that a father will provide food when he fed his hungry son;  he learns that a Father supports, comforts, enters into our pain when he falls and scrape our knees; And the baby learned that the Father guides and protects when David teaches and disciplines him. We also need to learn about God Our Father by letting Him into our lives so that He can provide for and love us.

The retreat ended with the teens and volunteers worshipping Jesus in the Eucharist…What could be better!?!
